The Hens' Den Valentine's Day Design Team Blog Hop!

Welcome to The Hens' Den Valentine's Day Design Team Blog Hop!

Anniversary Flowers Layout - by Carolyn Lontin

Today I will be featuring the Prima Marketing Rasp Tool. I have always loved to distress on my layouts - so when I received this FANTASTIC Prima Marketing Rasp Tool from The Hens' Den store I was thrilled!! This tool contains metal brushes,  paper edge scraper and two files.
Prima Marketing Rasp Tool

First up on the Rasp Tool - the metal brushes. I like to use these to distress the edges of my photos. I like the look of a border around the photo without having to add cardstock to the back of the photo. I use a photo cloth to minimize my fingerprints and I have a self-healing mat that I only use for distressing.
Here is the edge of the photo before it is distressed.

Next up, the paper edge scraper - this is seriously my most used technique ever.
Here is the paper edge before using the paper scraper.

and a little bit of distress ink on it.
Finally, the file can be used on the edge of a table
using a self-healing mat as shown here.
After using file on edge of table.
Or you can use the file flat on your self-healing mat.

Check out all of these goodies from The Hens' Den store that I used in my layout featured below:

Carolyn, I love this tool and must get it. I do a lot of distressing and instead of using 3 different ones, like the fact that this is in one. Love the idea of distressing your photos - never thought of doing that.

Great use of the tool and how to use it. I can't wait to get one. I hear it is so much easier to distress with. Love your layout and how you show how to hold your picture while distressing. Great job Carolyn

Went through your blog to see how many years your flowers were in celebration of, but couldn't find out. I see the stamp on the page said 1/2012. So that means you had another last month. Congrats!
I love getting flowers, but it doesn't happen on a yearly basis. So enjoy their beauty and the beauty of your loved ones.

I've seen this tool used on Ustream but didn't realize it had so many features since only the rasp was used. Thanks for the info and I LOVE your layout!
