Hi Friend mSB Card

Hi Friend is a great boy card for my son to send to his pal that moved away last year - I had fun repeating the circle 'hi' myStamp Box stamp.  These circle sentiments are so much fun!!
I love that you can mix and match the sentiments in this set to create your own sayings!

myStamp Box Card inspired by Creative Jumpstart

Today the myStamp Box Design Team is featuring projects inspired by the Creative Jumpstart Videos - go check out all of the fantastic projects on the myStamp Box Blog!!

I didn't use inspiration from just one video, I went for the art journaling look with inky layering using stamps and stencils with Distress inks and Glimmer Mist Spray - I LOVE how this card turned out!!

I could not find any of my stencils so I used the negative space from some older Scenic Route chipboard - I knew I saved it for something fun! :)

mSB Card with a happy oops!

Today's card for myStamp Box had a little oops but turned out okay in the end!

I was playing with Distress Inks on the background along with some Brilliance black ink and then I decided to stamp some circles using Versamark ink and clear embossing powder - well the clear embossing powder stuck to all of the inks making the whole card embossed and my circles invisible :(  I tried to add some more circles but of course they didn't really want to stick to the embossed card but if you look close enough you can see parts of the circles - lol!  But in the end I like the crazy inks and textures - fun to get messy anyway! :)

Today I will be featuring the Prima Marketing Rasp Tool. I have always loved to distress on my layouts - so when I received this FANTASTIC Prima Marketing Rasp Tool from The Hens' Den store I was thrilled!! This tool contains metal brushes,  paper edge scraper and two files.

First up on the Rasp Tool - the metal brushes. I like to use these to distress the edges of my photos. I like the look of a border around the photo without having to add cardstock to the back of the photo. I use a photo cloth to minimize my fingerprints and I have a self-healing mat that I only use for distressing.

Here is the edge of the photo before it is distressed.

Next up, the paper edge scraper - this is seriously my most used technique ever.

Finally, the file can be used on the edge of a table
using a self-healing mat as shown here.

mSB Card

Still making my way through my February birthday list of who I need to make cards for - two down and three to go! :)

Here is my latest one (for my dad :) ) He loves to cook so I thought the knife & fork Canvas Corp paper  would be the perfect touch!  (the other two papers are by Canvas Corp too!)  Lovin' the black & kraft with a pop of green!

I loved Lori's sketch as soon as I saw it!!  Since I still had all of my Hens Den MME All is Bright product on my desk - I whipped up a layout using Lori's sketch as inspiration!  The great thing about sketches is that they provide a basic foundation to get you started but you can manipulate them any way to fit your needs!
