SUPERBOWL CHAMPS!!!

Well Saturday morning we were out of here bright & early (7:30am) for a tail gate party at one of the teammates house, then we had a convoy over to the stadium for an hr of practice & then the 10am game!

Our record was 8 & 1 - we lost to one team this year - Dolphin White ... who was 9 & 0 AND this was the team we were playing in the superbowl!!!

Well our boys came for some SWEET REDEMPTION!! They played like I have NEVER seen them play before! WE didnt just win - WE KICKED SOME DOLPHIN BUTT!!!

At Half time it was 27-6, I don't think they were ready for us to bring our game, we were moving that ball on every play!!

Seth caught a TOUCHDOWN PASS!!! WAHOOOO !! One of the only two passes that were caught during the game & MAN OH MAN it was AWESOME!!!

Here is the final scoreboard ( WE ARE THE GUEST TEAM!)

and here is my boy who was v. v. nervous before the game but played like he was an ol' pro!!

So then a lot of celebrating & a big lunch for the boys (Old Chicago even gave us all free desserts to congradulate the boys!!) AND then he team came over for a celebration party!! Man this has been one exciting day- oh & I lost my voice by half time!!

Sunday, I had to help Seth wash all of the paint of my Yukon's windows!!! LOL!! Every car in our convoy was painted up!!

We had the best group of parents on our team & we are really going to miss hanging with them every Tuesday & Thursday nights & going to lunch after the games on Saturday ... we will be keeping in touch during the off season!!

Whoaaaaaa Mohawk!!

At the beginning of Seth's football season, his coach told the boys that if they made it to the play-off's that they could give him a mohawk - since Aug the coach went without a hair cut ... on Thursday night each boy got to take a few swipes at the coach's hair for his mohawk!!

Also at the beginning of the season my boy - who always wanted a mohawk & spikes his hair at ANY chance he gets - asked me if they made it to the play-offs if he could also get a mohawk ... sure sure son ... well here we are ... Our approval of Seth's mohawk set of a frenzy of 6 yr old boys plotting mohawks!

Tonight, Rick gave mohawks to Seth & his best pal Zach - ahhh these two are absolutely adorable!! (and I cant wait to black mail them with some pics when they are older ;) )

Seth (top) & Zach (bottom) before:

I can truly say I was nervous - but I was sticking to allowing Seth to get a mohawk ... and I have to say that I think he looks soooooo stinkin' cute!! It totallly fits both him & Zach (as you can see in the after photo LOL you can click on it for a bigger photo) their teacher is going to absolutely FLIP out on Tuesday ... ah welll ROCK ON these boys will remember this forever! ;)

An update!

September was a busy month for us with Seth being off track & having football - but I think we have settled back down & Seth is back in school and we still have football ! :)

Today there is a chill in the air so it really feels & looks like fall since the insane winds we have had the past few days have knocked a lot of the leaves off of the trees AND a pumpkin has replaced our flower pots on our front porch! :)

After yesterday's game we are 5 & 0!! These little guys play their hearts out & it's has been an amazing journey to watch them develop into little players!!

Yesterday's game was even more exciting because SETH CAUGHT A TOUCH DOWN PASS!! That's right!! WAHOOOOOO!!!!

This is our first time being involved in sports as a family & it really tests my strength as an adult - I play fair ... Seth's coaches are sooo strong on ethics & sportsmanship that we were def. placed on the right team ... BUT sooo many parents and coaches are mean, they lie & cheat for their teams & it is sad - I really feel bad for the boys on their teams.

A very cool thing at Seth's game yesterday was that Ed McCaffrey an ex-Denver Bronco (one of my FAVORITE players) was at the game - his kiddo plays on the opposing team. The boys were v. excited to learn a Denver Bronco was watching the game! :)

For Seth keeping track:

Game #1 55 - 7
Game #2 35 - 12
Game #3 39 - 34
Game #4 61 - 14
Game #5 30 - 12

Three more games left, we are told they are HARD TEAMS ... and going into yesterday's game we were one of two undefeated teams left & the other one we play in the upcoming weeks.

Here are a few pics from Saturday's game:

two - and - oh!

I am sure y'all are sick of hearing about football - but for me this is AWESOME! I love football & to have a son playing is amazing!

YaY!! Warriors black is undefeated!! (we won both scrimmages & both regular season games!!)

Today's game was not a shut out & they were a very hard team with some tricks of their own & some pretty BIG players!!

We scored / they scored / we scored / they scored / we scored & scored & scored ... until 34 to 12. The boys on BOTH teams worked their butts off at this game & it was so exciting to watch!!

But the best part - THE BEST PART ... with 6 plays left in the game we made it to the 1/2 yard line just before making a touchdown ...and instead of going for the touchdown, we took a knee and ended the game. The other team would get the ball back with two plays IF we made it in ... but why rub it in when they could not catch up or have a chance to win on those two plays.

I tell ya - these boys are going to come away with amazing sports ethics & for that I am thankful everyday!! We are so lucky to be on this team!!

So - for Seth keeping track:

Game #1 55 - 7
Game #2 34 -12

Keep it up guys you EARNED todays win!!!

Football photos!

Last night Seth's team had their football photos taken ~ a group of professional photographers comes to the practice field & takes the kids photos. Much like school photos you pick your package & order before you see the prints. We ordered a package that has the team photo, a 5x7 of Seth & some wallets of Seth ... and of course we ordered a set of trading cards with Seth's stats! Too cute! :)

The photographer was pretty cool & he let some of the parents take pics too ... which was good because I was ready to beg him to let me take some of my own photos ;)

here are two of Seth & one of his ROCKIN' team! :)

Tattoos...

It's no secret that Seth has ALWAYS loved tattoos ... always ... I think back even when he was one he loved tattoos ... He also LOVES to watch Miami Ink & now LA Ink ... scary I know ... so last night we are watching LA Ink ...

Seth: Mom, do you know where a tattoo place is around here.
Me: Sure, they are downtown.
Seth: downtown Denver?
Me: Yep.
Seth: Can you take me there, just so I can see whats going on?
Me: Well I think you have to be 18 to go there.
Seth: Hmmm ... 18 & then I can get one ... I mean check out what's going on there?
Me: Yes.
Pause.
Seth: Well can we drive by it so I know where it is at when I turn 18?
Holding back the laughter.
Me: Sure, buddy, when we drive by one I will let you know.

ACK ~ what am I in for?? LOL!!

Here are some recent photos sharing Seth's love for tattoos :)

YAY WARRIORS!!!!

WHOOO WHOOO!! Today was our second scrimmage AND WE WON BOTH!!

On Thursday night, we played the Warriors 7 yr old team (we are a 6 yr old team) and WE WON!! Scoring three touchdowns to NONE!!! One of ours was a fumble recovery / touchdown!

Today, we played the other Warriors 6 yr old team (there were a lot of kids that signed up so they made two teams Red / Black) ... WE KICKED BUTT!!! Although, they came right out on the first play & scored :( that would be the last play that they would gain ANY yards on (our defense had to wake up a little bit I guess! :) .. We scored almost every time we had the ball on offense as well as at least one defensive touchdown!! ( seriously I lost count because we dont keep official scores in scrimmages).

Today was super exciting for everyone & we cannot wait until next Saturday when the season starts!

These kids are also learning a ton about teamwork, respect for both their teammates and other teams and fair playing - I think every kid on our football team is going to walk away with some amazing sportsmanlike conducts that they will keep with them for the rest of their lives!

GO WARRIORS {Black}!!!

And here are some photos from today:

And just because I love this shot:

It's GONE!!!

The wiggly tooth was first noticed on July 21st & on August 15th he popped right on out - during school! So Seth was thrilled when he was sent to the nurses' office to pick out a treasure box to secure his FIRST LOST TOOTH!! (of course he picked an orange treasure box)

The tooth fairy came last night, leaving a $2 bill, a $1 coin, a half-dollar coin and LOTS of blue Fairy Dust (aka glitter)!!

Here are some pics from last night, of my one excited little boy ~ less one tooth! ;)
(btw, how lucky was I with the lighting in these photos! YAY! lol)

hmmmmm

Think I could be a digi scrapper??

Up til now I have just not been interested in digi scrapping - though I love to do sketches in Photoshop for SBO ... but they are simple basic sketches ... Friday night I was working on some sketches for our upcoming cyber crop on National Scrapbooking Day ... and WHAM!! It was like everything in photoshop just clicked & I GOT IT!! I got more than the basics!!

Now armed with this knowledge & this really cool site that has digi stamps (that I could just buy a ton of!!): Designer Digitals ... I suddenly wanted to try my new abilities in Photoshop!!

So I downloaded some free kits ... and well ... here is a layout:

Never fear - this will never replace my love of paper & the non-computer creative processes (plus I have wayyyyyy too much stuff {lol}!!) - but it's fun to play around with and this is one of my current FAV color combos! :)

Digital Credits (shhheeeeshhhh think I mixed & matched enough? lol!):
*c.smith-superstar red flowers
*c.smith-superstar blue swirls
*c.smith-red chipboard slide mount
*c.smith-white brad
*NRJ-Freebie-inked edges
*hroselli-from my heart journaling card
*sandekrirger_2Peas- time_nothing_is_worth_more
*veronica ponce_2peas-cottage bluff clock
*tia bennett_2Peas-jan07 birthday love brush

Awesome day!!

This morning I was scheduled to help out in Seth's class - I always love spending time in his classroom & he has the greatest bunch of kids!! Then I hung around for the releasing of the butterflies - Seth's K class obtained some butterfly eggs & were able to watch them go thru 4 stages of life to turn into butterflies ... and today was their release date! Of course I got some fun photos! :)

I was supposed to head into work after the releasing of the butterflies - but instead I called in - made us a picnic lunch, surprised Seth with us going up to one of our favorite places, Daniel's Park in CastleRock! We ate lunch, hiked, chased little lizzards & grasshoppers - oh and of course stopped to look at the buffalo! On our way home, we stopped at the garden shoppe where we bought 16 lillies (already planted them!) , seth a new shovel & rake and some wood chips. Then we headed to the library where we loaded up on I SPY books - which is good because the ones we have Seth has memorized LOL!!

Here are some shots of Seth I got this afternoon up at Daniel's Park - while these ones really aren't reflective of our great day - I have been wanting to get some photos of Seth by a brick or stone wall & today I had the opportunity ... though Seth wasnt real keen on the pose, I love how they turned out!

I have been tagged!

I have been tagged by Becky ... I think this is her way of making me blog ;)

Here are the rules:

Each player starts with 7 random facts/habits about themselves.

People who are tagged need to write on their own blog about their seven things, as well as these rules. At the end of your blog, you need to choose 7 people to get tagged and list their names. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them that they have been tagged and to read your blog!

1. I tie my shoes with two bows.
2. I have a gold tooth (my bling - wayyyyyy in the back that no one can see LOL).
3. Some days I like my iMac other days I wish I would have stayed with my PC (sorry Andie and I did say some days lol).
4. I am an early bird - typically up before 7am on the weekends & before 5am during the week.
5. I have never lied about my weight - even when I was overweight I'd tell the truth.
6. I hate movies where people die (not talking the shoot 'em up movies but movies where I dont think the people need to die - I am more of a happily ever after kind-of-gal).
7. I love the smell {and taste} of coffee so much I wish they made a coffee scented airfreshner for my car LOL!

The following are tagged:

1. Nicole
2. Andie
3. MaryFrances
4.Corey
5. Kelli
6. Nikki
7. Patrizzia

OH & I will be checking up on you!! :)

Skateboard Lessons!

Last week Seth's skateboard lessons were rescheduled to April 22nd & we closely watched the weather as the weather forcasters called for a blizzard - luckily the blizzard didnt happen and Seth's skateboard lessons DID!!!

So this morning at 7:45am we headed over to the skate park - mental note - do NOT wear flip flops at 7:45am on April 14th even though it will eventually get up to 60 degrees yet is only 30 degrees!! ACK!! I actually left at 8:30am to go put on warmer pants, socks & shoes 'cause I didnt want to lose a toe! Thankfully my mom & Rick stayed at the lessons to watch Seth!

The lessons were amazing!!! It was soooo awesome to watch Seth & the other boys improve in just the two short hours they were there - now Seth has lots of tricks & moves to practice this next week before his next class ... and I am sure our summer will be filled with afternoons at the skate park! :)

Here are some photos from today (and again - lol - don't let the blue skies trick ya into thinking it was warm ;) ):

Okay soooooo total slacker I am with this blog - but I think I know what my problem is - hey that is the FIRST STEP, right ? Right? ;)

Anyway I think tooooo much stuff happens all at once & then I feel overwhelmed with what do I blog? So I just don't blog! lol!!

So, here we go with the present day stuff & we will all just accept that we have had 4 big snow storms in 4 weeks along with Christmas & New Years in there ... and we are to get more snow this weekend but it's not looking to be a whole lot - which is probably good here 'cause we really need to thaw out! :)

Yesterday was Rick & my 10 year wedding anniversary - how cool! 10 yrs have gone by so fast yet so much has happened! It also makes us feel a little old since we met when I was just 16, but didn't marry until two weeks before my 23rd birthday - so at this point I have known Rick for half my life!

Here is a photo Seth took of us last night as we headed out to http://www.brookssteakhouse.com/index.htm can we just say YUMMMMMY!!! Ohhh man the food was just to die for! It was nice to go back & splurge a little bit! Seth stayed with our neighbors & went to their daughter's soccer games - he had a great time too! :)

Here is a photo Seth took of me while we were waiting for Rick to get ready so we could go to Brooks - I love this photo & I love that Seth has a HUGE interest in photography - lol - he was telling me how to pose! And I really DIG the afternoon light in our entry way - it sure makes great lighting for indoor photos ... wish I could save it & have it at my disposal! lol!

And just so he doesnt get mad at me - here is a photo of Seth with his new haircut on Jan 17th :)
