Pumpkin Carving!

Last night after we signed Seth up for Youth Wrestling thru the local high school, we carved his pumpkin. Bless his heart for waiting so patiently since Friday when we bought his pumpkin! Seth drew on the pumpkin with a marker & Rick cut out Seth's design ... I think they both did pretty good! :)

Here is Seth with his pumpkin on Friday:

A new book / fall photos / football playoffs!

Seems these days we are running non-stop! Whew! I need a few days of doing nothing but hangin' out at home!

Today I am starting the book The Host by Stephenie Meyer - I hear it's a pretty good read ... after lovin' Twilight Saga I can't wait to read another book by Stephenie Meyer.

On Friday Seth & I went to Hudson Gardens for our annual fall photos & pumpkin patch photos - the weather was gorgeous! I got some great photos of Seth!

Seth's football season is now at 7-1 - AWESOME! We have a bye-week this weekend & then we head into the play-offs & *fingers crossed* the superbowl! Not really looking forward to the chilly & dark practices over the next few weeks though! :)

Here are some photos from Saturday's game - I tried my 85mm 1.8 lens, thinking it was faster but didn't have the zoom - I took 311 photos GASP & not ONE was blurry!! Normally I have been using my 70-300mm & I would get a handfull of blurry photos out of about 200 photos ... so I loved the 85mm lens!

The after-game celebration:

Hope you are enjoying your fall! :)

very first shut-out

Well, I think a loss always makes a team play harder - and that is exactly what Seth's team did on Saturday ... they didn't let the other team score at all (we were missing a few of our regular kids that played on defense so our bench was pretty thin and Seth played first string defense as well as first & second string offense - he was on the field A LOT!).  A fascinating game bringing their record to 6-1 ... on the track to have the same standings as last year (7-1 then of course on to win the super-bowl - however we had been forewarned that only one team has won back to back super-bowls since our league started about 15 years ago & it was an older age team - ie not 6 or 7 yrs olds lol).

Here are some pics of the game:

I am done with all four of the Twilight Saga books - ahhhh have to say I absolutely LOVE them. Need to rest my eyes a bit before moving on to my next series - roughly 2600 pages in less than two weeks and new contacts in the middle of my read-a-thon has taken it's toll on my eyes lol! Tonight I will ponder over the latest episode of True Blood - very excited!!

Though a plus on the new contacts - my eyes have the same prescription as they did 4 years ago - YAY!

Also, scrapped a few layouts today - will be posting one tomorrow at for our weekly challenge, come & check it out! :)

cool. very very cool.

On Tuesday, Jay Cutler, the Denver Broncos Quarterback, showed up at the field where Seth's football team practices.  There are four Warrior teams that practice on the field (various ages) and Jay Cutler came to chat with one of the teams & to throw some passes - man it was so cool to see him throw a very long perfect spiral not more than 10 feet away from us.  The coach of the other team invited our team over to say hi & get some autographs - can you imagine the excitement of our 7 year old team!?

Seth had his helmet autographed & now plays with BRONCO power on his side. *wink*  It was incredibly hard to get a good photo of Seth & his autographed helmet (and I wanted to get one before his helmet would get scratched up in the next game as it always does); this tree played the perfect backdrop with it's orange & red leaves.  (the photos of Jay Cutler are from my friend's phone camera since I was a bit special with Rick's i-phone's camera function).

Hoping to scrap tonight, if I can tear myself away from BOOK #4 of the Twilight Saga - Breaking Dawn ... dunno if I can pull myself away before I finish it 'cause when I am done with it then I will have scrapping time - right now the addiction of this series is CRAZY!!

Monday cold Monday!

Brrrrrrrr a chilly chilly weekend here - it was shockingly cold at Seth's football game on Saturday morning ... really let's keep fall for a while & hold off on winter, just for a little bit.

The Warriors are now 5-1 ... they lost the battle of the undefeated teams but they played so hard esp. in the 30 degree temps with light misty rain! They will meet this team again & I am sure it will be another battle!

We need to get Seth some warmer football gloves, his receiver gloves are pretty much a rubber material & I think they made his hands even colder!

Pics from Saturday - can't ya feel the damp coldness!

Since the weekend was cold & rainy whatelse is a gal to do but spend the weekend in reading the Twlight series :) I finished book #2 late Saturday night so Sunday I rushed out to buy #3 & #4 and I am quickly working my way through #3 ... also impressed that I have read about 1300 pages in just a few days - usually it's hard for me to find the time to read.

Rick has started his books - the Southern Vampier Mysteries - quite honestly I cannot wait to dip into them, of course to give me some more insite on the HBO True Blood Series - which was FABULOUS last night too, always find myself wanting more at the end of the show!

Tonight, I will be rooting against Eli Manning with the hopes of my Fantasy Football team keeping the lead! It will be ugly though - beacuase Rick needs Plexico Burris to do GREAT ... hmmm ... maybe I will be watching alone ;)

Stay warm & have a great Monday!

I am hooked!

Last week an old friend told me about a book series that was a must read. So I reserved them at the library ... I was #317 - are you kidding me? I would have lost interest long before I got the book.

Off to Wal-mart at lunchtime ... I bought #1 & #2 in the series ... loaned them to my co-worker, because she would finish them faster than me & then we could chat about it. ;) Said co-worker & I went to Target yesterday at lunch so she could buy all 4 books for her collection - she is now well into book #3 ... in a week.

So I had to get my butt reading ... last night I started book #1 and read half of it - yes about 250 pages I read in a very short time - didn't / couldn't put the book down!

Check them out - they are an easy & great read!

Since Rick & I are obsessed with True Blood on HBO, I ordered The Southern Vampire Mysteries for Rick (ok ok I will read them too ;)). I will be swinging by Tattered Cover this weekend to pick up the first three books in the series.

Tonight we are off to with Seth's football team - we did it last year & it was a blast ... I am just hoping it isn't too chilly tonight because it's cold / damp today & tomorrow .... the 4-letter S word has even made it's way into the forecast for the weekend ... usually our first snow isn't until Halloween - ACK - especially since we have an early football game tomorrow ... the clash of the two undefeated teams GO WARRIORS!!

5 & 0 BABY!

Whew, Saturday's game was a shoot out ... both teams played their hearts out but we came out ahead! 40 - 33 (the other team's last touchdown was pretty questionable but hey we won!) Next week another HUGE game - next week's team was also undefeated going into this week's game so it's going to be another crazy game!! GOOD LUCK WARRIORS!

Here are some pics from Saturday - I love this field, it's a turf field & has an amazing view of the mountains (and yes that storm over the mountains made it COLD & WINDY!!)

Rick & Seth went to the Bronco game today - slow start but at least the Broncos pulled out the win from Tampa Bay! Seth made a sign to take with him - super cute!

Seth's football team is doing GREAT! This weekend we are heading into a BIG game - we are playing the team we defeated in the superbowl last fall!

Here are some photos from last weeks game - the light is amazing at 9am! lol!!

And Seth has decided to be Captain Rex from Star Wars the Clone Wars - we found this great costume for him ... though I may need to hide it 'cause he wants to wear it all of the time! lol!
