Birds of a Feather April Kit

Check out this fantastic kit from Birds of a Feather Kit Co!  I love the bright colors in this kit!!

This first layout is of Seth and me last spring … when he finally passed me in height!

Next, is a layout of our current home … must have been a great day to take photos against the gorgeous Colorado sky!

here is my layout featuring my son bringing his football pink (October for breast cancer) to his fall baseball games … I love that he wears pink proudly!

My layout is of my son's long time favorite ice cream from Cold Stone.

Journaling:

You have been eating this mix for as long as I can remember.  I am glad I found this photo on your phone!

My next layout is about my son's love and appreciation for nature.  Personally I wanted to leave the snake in our flowers since they eat the mice and maybe it would keep the neighbor kids out of my flowers - lol - but I didn't want them to kill it so we took it to a near by field.

Journaling:

We were working in our backyard when we screaming out front.  The neighbors saw a snake in our flowers and wanted to kill it.  So you and dad caught the snake and we drove it to the open space.  May 2013

Scrapbook Express March Challenge #3

Here is another layout for the March challenge over at Scrapbook Express - come play a long for your chance to win weekly and monthly!!  This is your last chance to enter for March!

The challenge is to either use this sketch and / or die cuts.  I was (once again) inspired by the sketch and I managed to use some older items in my stash!

This week I flipped the sketch:

I took these photos in February when we were in a major cold snap with temps not even warming up to zero!  Here are some photos from when it was about -19 degrees outside and Seth was shoveling the driveway in the shorts that he wore to school!!

Birds of a Feather Kit Co March 'tweet' sketch

Birds of a Feather Kit Club has a new monthly sketch!  You can check out the details on the Birds of a Feather Kit Co blog!

Here is my take on the sketch … I used some Karen Foster Design "What's Cookin'" line mixed with The Birds of a Feather March Kit - love how it all worked together!  I cut the title with my Silhouette Cameo - I think it was supposed to be a vinyl wall saying - but hey it worked here too! :)

Since our Cancun trip in January, I have had travel on my mind … going back to the warm beaches of Cancun, planning future vacations and realizing that I have not scrapped a lot of our past vacations - so here are some photos from our road trip to Mt. Rushmore in June 2009 (yup, the same road trip as my "don't speed in WY" layout below! :)

Birds of a Feather March Kit

I have two more layouts to share today featuring Birds of a Feather's March Kit !

The first layout I have to share today is a photo from a few years ago on a family road trip from CO to SD.  We were no more than a few miles across the WY border when I was pulled over for speeding!  Instead of letting the ticket and the hefty fine ruin our vacation - I leaned back and snapped a photo of the police car.  Even as I was working on this layout both DH & DS laughed at the memory of how our road trip started ... making me even happier that I took the photo!  Photo: June 2009

Don't speed in Wyoming:

The second layout I am sharing with you today is a photo of my son on our trip to Houston - it was his second time flying so he was super excited! Photo: May 2007
