It's GONE!!!

The wiggly tooth was first noticed on July 21st & on August 15th he popped right on out - during school! So Seth was thrilled when he was sent to the nurses' office to pick out a treasure box to secure his FIRST LOST TOOTH!! (of course he picked an orange treasure box)

The tooth fairy came last night, leaving a $2 bill, a $1 coin, a half-dollar coin and LOTS of blue Fairy Dust (aka glitter)!!

Here are some pics from last night, of my one excited little boy ~ less one tooth! ;)
(btw, how lucky was I with the lighting in these photos! YAY! lol)

hmmmmm

Think I could be a digi scrapper??

Up til now I have just not been interested in digi scrapping - though I love to do sketches in Photoshop for SBO ... but they are simple basic sketches ... Friday night I was working on some sketches for our upcoming cyber crop on National Scrapbooking Day ... and WHAM!! It was like everything in photoshop just clicked & I GOT IT!! I got more than the basics!!

Now armed with this knowledge & this really cool site that has digi stamps (that I could just buy a ton of!!): Designer Digitals ... I suddenly wanted to try my new abilities in Photoshop!!

So I downloaded some free kits ... and well ... here is a layout:

Never fear - this will never replace my love of paper & the non-computer creative processes (plus I have wayyyyyy too much stuff {lol}!!) - but it's fun to play around with and this is one of my current FAV color combos! :)

Digital Credits (shhheeeeshhhh think I mixed & matched enough? lol!):
*c.smith-superstar red flowers
*c.smith-superstar blue swirls
*c.smith-red chipboard slide mount
*c.smith-white brad
*NRJ-Freebie-inked edges
*hroselli-from my heart journaling card
*sandekrirger_2Peas- time_nothing_is_worth_more
*veronica ponce_2peas-cottage bluff clock
*tia bennett_2Peas-jan07 birthday love brush

Awesome day!!

This morning I was scheduled to help out in Seth's class - I always love spending time in his classroom & he has the greatest bunch of kids!! Then I hung around for the releasing of the butterflies - Seth's K class obtained some butterfly eggs & were able to watch them go thru 4 stages of life to turn into butterflies ... and today was their release date! Of course I got some fun photos! :)

I was supposed to head into work after the releasing of the butterflies - but instead I called in - made us a picnic lunch, surprised Seth with us going up to one of our favorite places, Daniel's Park in CastleRock! We ate lunch, hiked, chased little lizzards & grasshoppers - oh and of course stopped to look at the buffalo! On our way home, we stopped at the garden shoppe where we bought 16 lillies (already planted them!) , seth a new shovel & rake and some wood chips. Then we headed to the library where we loaded up on I SPY books - which is good because the ones we have Seth has memorized LOL!!

Here are some shots of Seth I got this afternoon up at Daniel's Park - while these ones really aren't reflective of our great day - I have been wanting to get some photos of Seth by a brick or stone wall & today I had the opportunity ... though Seth wasnt real keen on the pose, I love how they turned out!

I have been tagged!

I have been tagged by Becky ... I think this is her way of making me blog ;)

Here are the rules:

Each player starts with 7 random facts/habits about themselves.

People who are tagged need to write on their own blog about their seven things, as well as these rules. At the end of your blog, you need to choose 7 people to get tagged and list their names. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them that they have been tagged and to read your blog!

1. I tie my shoes with two bows.
2. I have a gold tooth (my bling - wayyyyyy in the back that no one can see LOL).
3. Some days I like my iMac other days I wish I would have stayed with my PC (sorry Andie and I did say some days lol).
4. I am an early bird - typically up before 7am on the weekends & before 5am during the week.
5. I have never lied about my weight - even when I was overweight I'd tell the truth.
6. I hate movies where people die (not talking the shoot 'em up movies but movies where I dont think the people need to die - I am more of a happily ever after kind-of-gal).
7. I love the smell {and taste} of coffee so much I wish they made a coffee scented airfreshner for my car LOL!

The following are tagged:

1. Nicole
2. Andie
3. MaryFrances
4.Corey
5. Kelli
6. Nikki
7. Patrizzia

OH & I will be checking up on you!! :)

Skateboard Lessons!

Last week Seth's skateboard lessons were rescheduled to April 22nd & we closely watched the weather as the weather forcasters called for a blizzard - luckily the blizzard didnt happen and Seth's skateboard lessons DID!!!

So this morning at 7:45am we headed over to the skate park - mental note - do NOT wear flip flops at 7:45am on April 14th even though it will eventually get up to 60 degrees yet is only 30 degrees!! ACK!! I actually left at 8:30am to go put on warmer pants, socks & shoes 'cause I didnt want to lose a toe! Thankfully my mom & Rick stayed at the lessons to watch Seth!

The lessons were amazing!!! It was soooo awesome to watch Seth & the other boys improve in just the two short hours they were there - now Seth has lots of tricks & moves to practice this next week before his next class ... and I am sure our summer will be filled with afternoons at the skate park! :)

Here are some photos from today (and again - lol - don't let the blue skies trick ya into thinking it was warm ;) ):

whew ~ finally an update!

Okay soooooo total slacker I am with this blog - but I think I know what my problem is - hey that is the FIRST STEP, right ? Right? ;)

Anyway I think tooooo much stuff happens all at once & then I feel overwhelmed with what do I blog? So I just don't blog! lol!!

So, here we go with the present day stuff & we will all just accept that we have had 4 big snow storms in 4 weeks along with Christmas & New Years in there ... and we are to get more snow this weekend but it's not looking to be a whole lot - which is probably good here 'cause we really need to thaw out! :)

Yesterday was Rick & my 10 year wedding anniversary - how cool! 10 yrs have gone by so fast yet so much has happened! It also makes us feel a little old since we met when I was just 16, but didn't marry until two weeks before my 23rd birthday - so at this point I have known Rick for half my life!

Here is a photo Seth took of us last night as we headed out to http://www.brookssteakhouse.com/index.htm can we just say YUMMMMMY!!! Ohhh man the food was just to die for! It was nice to go back & splurge a little bit! Seth stayed with our neighbors & went to their daughter's soccer games - he had a great time too! :)

Here is a photo Seth took of me while we were waiting for Rick to get ready so we could go to Brooks - I love this photo & I love that Seth has a HUGE interest in photography - lol - he was telling me how to pose! And I really DIG the afternoon light in our entry way - it sure makes great lighting for indoor photos ... wish I could save it & have it at my disposal! lol!

And just so he doesnt get mad at me - here is a photo of Seth with his new haircut on Jan 17th :)

Lovin' Target online photo (with Yahoo photos)

So my saga begins last week...

Tuesday, I received our Winkflash order of Christmas photo cards, love love how they turned out & LOVE how fast I rec'd the photo cards. I rush to adhere labels & stuff the envelopes with the photo cards & some of Seth's school photos ... then I remember I like to send additional photos to my mom's Aunt Eve in IL, Rick's Uncle Gil in CA & Rick's Grandma Sarah, but last year I printed off photos to include in the card mailing & some photos stuck together.

So Weds first thing in the morning I decide to upload the extra photos to King Soopers (local grocery store), they have a 1 hour photo development when you order online. This will be great, I can get the rest of the cards mailed by Thursday! LONG LONG story made short - Friday I cancelled my {still undeveloped} photo order, because they were having online issues.

Friday evening about 8pm I upload to Safeway (another local grocery store) ... I spend a good amount of time uploading photos & blah blah ... only to come to the end to be told I can pick up my photos in 4-7 days ... WHAT??? lol ... Argh!

Sooooo around 10pm Friday night I upload to Target, which promises me the photos will be developed by 11am Saturday morning ... A phone call to Target around 11:45am reassures me the photos are developed - YAY - and by noon they are in my hot little hands!!

I am relieved to say the remaining four Christmas cards are now stamped & sealed - they will be dropped off at the post office Monday morning on my way to work ! :)

This will also put Rick's Grandma Sarah's mind to rest, because she called me today wondering why other people in the family had received Christmas cards & she had not received hers {SHARON - was I on the MONEY with that one! LOL} ... I reassured her hers was almost postal & she was happy to hear that she was also receiving an 8x10 of Seth's school photo! :)

Oh & next year, I will be prepared to order my extra photos with my Christmas photo cards - live & learn!

Hometown Holiday Celebration

I love this tradition of our town ~ it's a nice little celebration where vendors come out give free samples (lots of free food!) & coupons, horse drawn carriage rides, a train ride for the kids, Santa & his reindeer, the lighting of the town tree & of couse fireworks ... just a lot of fun! This is the second year of this celebration & the second year Seth & I have attended ... Rick's first year. Though, this year was a lot colder than last year, so it wasn't the ideal year for Rick to go ~ lol! Cold or not, it's such a good time for Seth!!

I met another scrapbooker today!! I am on the Kindergarten party planning committee - huh dont really remember signing up for these things - but knowing me I probably checked the lines thinking "sure I can be in charge of planning a party" lol!! Anyway ... me & two other moms have come up with some great activities for the kiddos ... and one of the moms is a scrapper! This is also the mom of Katie - Seth's girlfriend!! So like a good scrapper, I emailed her 16 pics I had of the kids at school, field day & the fall festival! :)

And because I love to share photos - here are some from tonight's Hometown Holiday Celebration :)

Let it snow! Let it snow!

Okay, so it's no secret that I just LOVE the snow!! Last night we had our first snow of the season and some of the kiddos of the neighborhood could not have been more excited! I love the innocence of kids playing in the snow - the snow & the sleds kept them entertained for about two {chilly} hours!

I am here ...

okay I have been having major issues when ever I attempt to update this blog ... so hopefully this works!

Things have been good - busy - but good!! Seth is doing awesome in school! He was tested for the gifted program in Sept & he passed out of Kindergarten! WTG Seth! So he is being taught a first grade curriculum and will remain with his Kindergarten class. He is also on his way to reading like a pro - we read for 20min every night & man this kid picks things up quick!! We are so proud of him!!

We have been watching a lot of football, naturally & are all ready to watch the Broncos kick some Raven butt on Monday Night Football! :)

It has been nice to see my family these past two weekends ~ two weeks ago my parents came over & spent all day Saturday with us! And this past Saturday my brother, SIL & their two kids came over ... both were great days!

So I will leave you with some photos of the kids this weekend!

#1 Blaise (my nephew) & Seth in Seth's playhouse
#2 Haeley (my niece) sound asleep in Rick's arms
#3 Seth & Blaise riding bikes
#4 Awww look at the proud big brother
#5 Blaise, Seth & Haeley ... this one will be used in a Christmas present for my parents since it the one of the few pics of their three grandchildren :)

A nice surprise!

Last night while we were cooking dinner I rec'd a phone call from Sharon - I knew she was in Colorado but we werent sure if our schedules were going to work for us to get together ... but we were both free last night when she realized how close she was to my house!

It was GREAT to see her!! We had a great evening chatting, a trip to Starbucks (have we ever not gone to Starbucks when we are together?) looking at photos & of course playing games with Seth - Yatzee (Seth got to show off his fancy math skills!) & tic-tac-toe (which we all know Seth won!) :)

I snapped a few photos of Seth & Sharon being silly, I am sure they will both treasure these photos!!

Gorgeous day in Colorado

Ahhhhh today was the perfect temperature outside ... low 70's here in town and high 60's up in Daniel's Park where we ended up for a mid-day hike during our errand running. Of course I had my camera & was able to capture some great shots & even Seth got behind the camera to take a pic of Rick & me. :)
