cool. very very cool.

On Tuesday, Jay Cutler, the Denver Broncos Quarterback, showed up at the field where Seth's football team practices.  There are four Warrior teams that practice on the field (various ages) and Jay Cutler came to chat with one of the teams & to throw some passes - man it was so cool to see him throw a very long perfect spiral not more than 10 feet away from us.  The coach of the other team invited our team over to say hi & get some autographs - can you imagine the excitement of our 7 year old team!?

Seth had his helmet autographed & now plays with BRONCO power on his side. *wink*  It was incredibly hard to get a good photo of Seth & his autographed helmet (and I wanted to get one before his helmet would get scratched up in the next game as it always does); this tree played the perfect backdrop with it's orange & red leaves.  (the photos of Jay Cutler are from my friend's phone camera since I was a bit special with Rick's i-phone's camera function).

Hoping to scrap tonight, if I can tear myself away from BOOK #4 of the Twilight Saga - Breaking Dawn ... dunno if I can pull myself away before I finish it 'cause when I am done with it then I will have scrapping time - right now the addiction of this series is CRAZY!!

Monday cold Monday!

Brrrrrrrr a chilly chilly weekend here - it was shockingly cold at Seth's football game on Saturday morning ... really let's keep fall for a while & hold off on winter, just for a little bit.

The Warriors are now 5-1 ... they lost the battle of the undefeated teams but they played so hard esp. in the 30 degree temps with light misty rain! They will meet this team again & I am sure it will be another battle!

We need to get Seth some warmer football gloves, his receiver gloves are pretty much a rubber material & I think they made his hands even colder!

Pics from Saturday - can't ya feel the damp coldness!

Since the weekend was cold & rainy whatelse is a gal to do but spend the weekend in reading the Twlight series :) I finished book #2 late Saturday night so Sunday I rushed out to buy #3 & #4 and I am quickly working my way through #3 ... also impressed that I have read about 1300 pages in just a few days - usually it's hard for me to find the time to read.

Rick has started his books - the Southern Vampier Mysteries - quite honestly I cannot wait to dip into them, of course to give me some more insite on the HBO True Blood Series - which was FABULOUS last night too, always find myself wanting more at the end of the show!

Tonight, I will be rooting against Eli Manning with the hopes of my Fantasy Football team keeping the lead! It will be ugly though - beacuase Rick needs Plexico Burris to do GREAT ... hmmm ... maybe I will be watching alone ;)

Stay warm & have a great Monday!

I am hooked!

Last week an old friend told me about a book series that was a must read. So I reserved them at the library ... I was #317 - are you kidding me? I would have lost interest long before I got the book.

Off to Wal-mart at lunchtime ... I bought #1 & #2 in the series ... loaned them to my co-worker, because she would finish them faster than me & then we could chat about it. ;) Said co-worker & I went to Target yesterday at lunch so she could buy all 4 books for her collection - she is now well into book #3 ... in a week.

So I had to get my butt reading ... last night I started book #1 and read half of it - yes about 250 pages I read in a very short time - didn't / couldn't put the book down!

Check them out - they are an easy & great read!

Since Rick & I are obsessed with True Blood on HBO, I ordered The Southern Vampire Mysteries for Rick (ok ok I will read them too ;)). I will be swinging by Tattered Cover this weekend to pick up the first three books in the series.

Tonight we are off to http://www.botanicgardens.org/content/corn-maze with Seth's football team - we did it last year & it was a blast ... I am just hoping it isn't too chilly tonight because it's cold / damp today & tomorrow .... the 4-letter S word has even made it's way into the forecast for the weekend ... usually our first snow isn't until Halloween - ACK - especially since we have an early football game tomorrow ... the clash of the two undefeated teams GO WARRIORS!!

5 & 0 BABY!

Whew, Saturday's game was a shoot out ... both teams played their hearts out but we came out ahead! 40 - 33 (the other team's last touchdown was pretty questionable but hey we won!) Next week another HUGE game - next week's team was also undefeated going into this week's game so it's going to be another crazy game!! GOOD LUCK WARRIORS!

Here are some pics from Saturday - I love this field, it's a turf field & has an amazing view of the mountains (and yes that storm over the mountains made it COLD & WINDY!!)

Rick & Seth went to the Bronco game today - slow start but at least the Broncos pulled out the win from Tampa Bay! Seth made a sign to take with him - super cute!

4-0

Seth's football team is doing GREAT! This weekend we are heading into a BIG game - we are playing the team we defeated in the superbowl last fall!

Here are some photos from last weeks game - the light is amazing at 9am! lol!!

And Seth has decided to be Captain Rex from Star Wars the Clone Wars - we found this great costume for him ... though I may need to hide it 'cause he wants to wear it all of the time! lol!

hello lonely blog !

Wow - time has flown since I posted here ...let's see football camps, lost teeth, back to school, cooler weather etc etc!

Seth is doing great in second grade & he is loving his second year of football - which consumes most of our time, even more now that Rick is an asst. coach this year, but it's all good!

Seth's team is 2-0 ... they are working so hard this year! Here are some pics from their second game & our second banner (okay maybe third since the first orig. one we had to pitch) but this one was Rick's idea & all of the bones were hand sketched by him ... wonder what we will come up with for this weekend's game! ack!

School is great - Seth adores his teacher & he is doing great ... tomorrow is my first time helping in his class, love that I am able to do that! Friday is field day - rescheduled from last week's rainy stormy cold Friday! Very excited for the pics - and to make my 3rd Field day mini! :)

maybe I should have said ...

... baseball will consume my every waking moment! ;)

We are in the full swing of the tournaments - which really means CRAZY TIME! We had our first game last Saturday, then Tuesday evening, then Thurs (tomorrow) evening & then possibly two on Saturday - huh what? The players really only are 7 yrs old! But it's been a great season & they have played their hearts out, we have made some great new friends & of course I have probably near 1000 baseball photos!! Here is a great one:

Today we rec'd Seth's second grade teacher info & we are looking forward to a great year (school starts Aug 6th!!), better start shoppin' for supplies soon!

Since my last blog post, we had our house painted (since this photo we have replaced the lights & have new door handles on order YAY!!) I will have to take a photo when everything is complete! LOVE LOVE the new colors:

And one last photo I took last week of Seth w/ my blooming lilies - such great lighting!

BASEBALL has begun!!

Okay so the practices really started back in Feb - mid Feb ... but the first game is finally here!! Yesterday was sooo much fun ... I was antsy & excited all morning - the feelings from football season were coming back & I was ready to go! :)

I expected a few mistakes, if not a lot of mistakes because baseball is such a quick & somewhat individual sport because a play can be huge or small depending on one guy! But of course, the Warriors Black 7yr old AA boys are a FORCE, sure there are some things they will be working on but , these boys amaze me with their skills & the amount of info they pick up & retain on the sports ... so here is to another winning season - they did it for Football, they did it for Basketball ... now let's see what they are going to do with Baseball!!

game #1 32 - 24
Seth was up to bat 5 times - every time he knocked that ball right on out of there - ONE TIME BEING A HOME RUN!! WHOOO WHOOO!! Twice, he made it to second base, once to first & once he was out ta first ... he hit the ball right down the first base line. Awesome batting buddy!!

As catcher, Seth caught a pop up to give the other team an out - WTG!!! Now, in both scrimmages & the first game Seth has caught a pop up for an out - keep that up!!

Seth also plays right outfield ... this gave him a run for his money a few times cause the other team had some fabulous hitters!!

We have a game this afternoon, too, can't wait! :)

Here are some photos from the game on Saturday:

Out with one & in with another!

These days we go from one sport to another without blinking - and for almost a month baseball & basketball overlapped since our baseball team opted for some preseason practices!

Seth loved basketball - it was a rec center non-competitive league, but he had a blast! Of course, I am sure it had to do with half of the team being his football pals! :) But for now, it's good-bye to basketball (until next winter! :) )

We are full fledged into baseball - this week starts 3 days a week practice! But Seth already loves it! He likes being "busy" (as he refers to the evening practices) & he loves being outside with his pals. Me, I love watching him & cheering him on & of course I love being back outside to take photos (the indoor basketball photos drove me nuts! :) ) So with that ... here are some photos from a few recent practices. The first ones are on a turf field on March 1st & the other ones are from last night on a dirt field LOL! TFL :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY !!

Wow, time sure flies! I cannot believe Seth is SEVEN years old today!! So much seems like it was yesterday, yet it seems like such a long time ago!!

I am so proud of this little boy, he is just such an amazing person!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY SWEET SON!

Each year Seth gets a special birthday breakfast - it's usually a cupcake, but this year the bakery didn't have any cool ones, so Seth got a donut!

Here he is with his new ipod shuffle - loaded by Rick - all of the songs Seth loves!

And finally, I like to take a photo of Seth with his birthday candle - and I would like to thank Ricky Bobby from Talladega Nights for this pose! ;)
